In just over the five years from the time of my mother’s first stroke in January of 1998 until her death in February of 2003, she was admitted to five rehabilitation/nursing home facilities, hospitalized at least eight times, and was a resident in three assisted living facilities.  Peg Holloway assisted us for the last year and a half of mom’s life and I only wish we had known her sooner. 
 
Being an only child and living nearly 2,000 miles away made it so difficult to for me to keep track of mom’s declining physical and mental health due to the strokes.  Peg became the “constant” person in assessing her condition and relayed day-to-day information to me in addition to keeping me informed during the more critical medical events.   She and Liz Smith were always available to answer questions that I had regarding mom’s needs and care.  Peg became a wonderful friend and source of support to me, as well as a trusted caregiver to my mother.
